NYC- Day 4
Last night after dinner, we met up with one of our good friends that we hadn't seen since college. He's now living in Brooklyn and he came over to have some beer and enjoy the rooftop with us. Afterwards, he and the hubby went out and spent some time here:
It's a bar in the neighborhood and they partied New York style until very late...I opted for bed :)
This morning, we got up and went to the Brooklyn Flea. It's an awesome flea market with lots of vendors and food:
I picked up an AWESOME xmas present (yes I'm trying to plan ahead so it doesn't overwhelm me), and mom and I shared a delicious lobster roll:
I have been craving one since I saw a recent blog post about them. Bretty opted for a grilled cheese:
We waited forever for his sandwich, which he said was enjoyable but probably not worth the wait.
Next, we took the subway to 5th avenue. We spent some time checking out Mario Batali's new store "Eataly" which was incredibly crowded! It just opened a few weeks ago and it's basically an italian food hall. Kind of like the North Market, for all you Columbus people, but all italian food:
Then Bretty found the highlight of his day down the street. (Hint: look at the orange flag) We went in to compare it to the one at home:
Next, we headed over to the East Village. We stopped to get some sandwiches here:
The service was horrible but the food was good when we FINALLY got it. Afterwards, we stopped by our favorite bar that we discovered last time we were here. They serve Eastern European beer.
They serve one of the hubby's all-time favorite beers and one that both of my parents really like:
We made it home and then it was nap time before dinner. We're headed to a turkish place on the Upper East Side and then hopefully meeting up with another college friend we haven't seen in forever!
Enjoy!
