Catch the Halloween Spirit!
Need a last minute costume idea?
In honor of our the upcoming first holiday of fall, I thought I'd give you all a look back at the way Katie and I spent some of our my past Halloweens. In typical little sister fashion, she got a lot of hand-me-down costumes....but I'd say we both pulled them off equally well.
First, here's a picture of Halloween 1967. That's my dad and my three aunts festively gathered around a pumpkin:
This appears to be my first experience with pumpkins. I'm still just as enthralled with the stems!
And here we go. This isn't a complete representation, but it's some of the best:
What a cute clown :)
One of Katie's best years...I was Snow White (can't find a pic) and she was Dopey...hahahaha!
Wonder Woman and cats!
Below is our most appropriate costume year personality-wise :)
An angel and a devil!
Just kidding!
An apple and a witch:
One of the best costumes ever...PLUS this is the year we moved to Kansas right before Halloween so I got to wear it twice!
A cow and a starfish:
One of mom's best costume making years- a sea monster and a unicorn!
An old lady:
We even dressed up the dog:
In parting, I'll leave you with a few Halloween-y type things I came across in my picture browsing:
I have no idea whose cat this is, but he looks festive!
I think our neighbor made this cake....I have no real memory of the cake itself, but I remember the banana stem quite clearly!
Again, I have no idea who this baby is...perhaps my Aunt Judy? But SOOOO CUTE!!
So tell me...what was your best Halloween costume?
Enjoy!

That cake was a mom and Deb S creation for your going away party from MN to KS. Clearly not our best effort but it was fun. I miss baking with her!
Mom, you can leave your name when you comment, you don't have to be anonymous!
Your mom and I each baked a bundt cake, then put the two together. What I remember most was that we could not get the frosting to stay on that banana- we had to keep re-doing it and we were laughing SO HARD! Fun times and great memories!
