Snickers Surprise Cookies

Hello!

The holiday baking has begun. Snickers surprise were the only kind of cookies that my hubby requested specifically this year, so of course they were first on my list. Last night we were on dog duty because my in-laws were off celebrating their anniversary, so I packed up a baking basket...and the dogs...and we headed over the their house for the evening. So...if the scenery looks a little different, that's why!

For theses cookies, I used this recipe and I made about 4 dozen, even though the recipe only says 2. I turned some of the extra dough into peanut blossoms

Here's what you need:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
24 Snickers miniature candy bars

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300°F. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large bowl, mix together butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla and combine thoroughly.

Then mix in flour mixture.

Cover and chill dough 2-3 hours.

To form cookie, scoop a tablespoon of chilled dough and flatten. Place a miniature Snickers in the center and form the dough into a ball around the Snickers.

Place on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-20 minutes. Cool cookies on a rack.

Decorate with some melted chocolate if you wish!

Or use the same dough and bake, then add hershey kisses:

 Enjoy!

This is my all time favorite cookie. You need to make more, because I ate all of them
